Health Systems for All—Expanding Horizons
The Health Systems Program invited Dr. Nelson Sewankambo to give the keynote speech at its 50th anniversary celebration. Dr. Sewankambo is Professor and Principal of the College of Health Sciences at Makerere University and was the founder and PI for the renowned Rakai Health Sciences Program. In addition to the address, Program Director David Peters moderated a panel session on the controversies and contributions of health systems research and programs. The session included participation from the audience whose answers to questions posed by Peters were tabulated in real time through electronic voting devices. The panelists were Professor William Reinke, Assistant Professor Asha George, and the first DrPH graduate in International Health, Dr. Tom Hall, Executive Director of the Global Health Education Consortium.
