Directions to Homewood Campus
For Summer Institute participants who desire housing, there is a residential facility available at the Homewood campus. Students will be housed in the new Charles Commons. Housing requests will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. All housing reservations must be made by June 2, 2008 and be accompanied by full payment. Housing payments are non-refundable after June 2, 2008. Children are not permitted in the residence hall.
The Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus Student Residences are located on a 140-acre wooded campus in a residential area of North Baltimore. These housing facilities are 3.7 miles from the Bloomberg School of Public Health. We offer single rooms in a shared air-conditioned dormitory suite. Single rooms offer a private bedroom with shared bathroom, living room and kitchenette.
A blanket, pillow, linen, and soap will be provided for each occupant. Linen is changed weekly. Breakfast and dinner will be provided every day in the spacious, modern cafeteria. Common space for the entire residence includes lounge areas with color televisions and VCRs, a social lounge, exercise room and coin operated laundry. University facilities available at the Homewood campus include tennis courts and an outdoor track. Due to very limited on-campus parking, we strongly suggest that participants not bring their automobiles to campus. Students who must bring their cars will need to complete and send in the Homewood Parking Form prior to their arrival. Shuttle bus transportation between the Homewood campus and the School of Public Health is provided at no charge. Although the Institute cannot make hotel reservations for summer institute participants, a list of area hotels and approximate prices can be found on the Alternative Housing page. |
