The WCHPC is working with the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) Workforce Development Committee to assess Title V workforce capacity and training needs nationwide. Through a collaborative effort between AMCHP, the WCHPC, and the Association of Teachers of Maternal and Child Health (ATMCH), state MCH and children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) programs were surveyed to identify workforce capacity and training needs.
The information collected in this survey will support AMCHP and ATMCH recommendations to federal agencies around workforce development and provide information to university and non-academic partners for developing MCH leadership and training programs that are responsive to the needs of states.
In addition to providing assistance for survey development and administration, the WCHPC also led the data analysis phase of this effort and prepared publications and presentations reporting preliminary descriptive findings.
The WCHPC team includes Holly Grason, Alyssa Sharkey and Jenelle Partelow; Donna Strobino is providing consultation to the team. Ms. Sharkey is a doctoral candidate and Ms. Partelow is an MPH candidate.
