Research is the cornerstone of a great university. At the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Office of Academic Affairs provides the tools, documents and resources Faculty need to comply with guidelines and standards, to obtain funding for research projects and to attract postdoctoral students.

The exceptional faculty, postdoctoral fellows and students at the School of Public Health conduct research that spans from molecules to societies and relies on methodologies as diverse as bench science and epidemiology. The collective goal of the School’s research endeavor is to improve the public’s health in the United States and throughout the world. Faculty currently conduct research in over 120 countries and that number continues to grow. We are united in our entrepreneurial, collaborative and collegial approach to problem solving.

Our office aims to facilitate faculty research and enhance interdisciplinary collaborations while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and responsible conduct. I am committed to ensuring that faculty members have the necessary resources and guidance for these pursuits. In today’s difficult funding climate, access to information about funding opportunities – both traditional and non-traditional – is critical. Moreover, the need and opportunities for research that crosses disciplines have become increasingly clear.  SciVal Experts is a resource that compiles faculty research profiles from PubMed publications and other databases for faculty members on the East Baltimore campus that can assist in identifying potential collaborations.  More information can be found at SciVal Experts website.
