2013 KL2 Mentored Career Development Awards

Purpose:  The purpose of the KL2 is to provide support for clinical research training and career development of persons in relevant disciplines and professions (including but not limited to internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, statistics, nursing, epidemiology and behavioral sciences psychology, and engineering) and their various specialties and sub-specialties.

Eligibility: Earned MD, DO, DDS or other clinical doctoral degree including but not limited to DPH, PharmD, PhD, PsyD.  Epidemiologists, behavioral scientists and nurses with doctoral degrees are also eligible.  A faculty appointment within an academic unit of JHMI at the date of receipt of the award.  At least 80% protected time available for research and/or research training for the next three years.  A commitment to a career focused on clinical investigation.  Have not served as PI on an NIH RO1, R29 or projects or program project, center or collaborataive research grants.  Must not have an active NIH K-series award application pending.   U. S. citizen, permanent resident or non-citizen national status.   Identification of and support from at least one JH faculty mentor active and successful in clinical investigations.
