Single-stream recycling is a new and improved program that allows paper, plastic, glass and aluminum to be recycled in one, single container. As a rule of thumb, if it’s a can, a bottle, a plastic container or paper that tears, you can put it in the recycling container. What can be recycled - Glass bottles
- Plastic bottles with a rating 1–7
- Plastic food containers with a rating 1–7
- Plastic grocery bags
- Cans (metal, aluminum and steel)
- All types of computer paper
- All white papers
- All colored papers
- Fax papers
- Adding machine tapes
- Tab and time cards
- Accounting ledgers
- Posters and bulletins
- NCR carbonless forms
- Post-it notes
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Brown paper lunch bags
- All types of envelopes (windows, labels, coated, colored)
- Mail such as pamphlets and brochures
- Manila and colored folders
- Bound books
- Papers with staples or paper clips
More good news. You do not need to rinse plastic food or drink containers. Everything that you put in the recycling containers and that meets the requirements (listed above) will be recycled. What cannot be recycled - Plastic knives, forks and spoons
- Plastic lunch bags (Ziploc baggies)
- Plastic overnight mail envelopes
- Plastics not rated 1–7
- Metal that is not a metal can
- Coated (waxed) paper coffee cups
- Waxed cardboard
- Carbon paper
- Restroom papers
- Aluminum foil
