The Johns Hopkins Fetal Development Project began in 1991. Over the past 20 years more than 900 maternal-fetal pairs have participated in one of our studies. Our oldest “babies” are now in college and our youngest ones have not been born yet. Over one hundred of you, fondly known as our “frequent flyers” have participated two or three times with successive pregnancies. But whether you are a new or longtime participant, getting to know each of you (and assorted husbands, grandmothers, grandfathers, children, and on occasion, pets) has been the most fulfilling part of our jobs. Are we still at it? You bet! We are currently looking for healthy, non-smoking pregnant women to take part in a research study on how the maternal-fetal relationship develops. This study involves four visits, beginning in the eighteenth week of pregnancy. To thank you for your time, you will be provided parking during the study and a $50 Target gift card at your final visit. Click here to learn more about the Prenatal Study. If you are a current or past participant, please check out a more detailed description of our ongoing follow-up visits in the link at left. You can also download all of our publications based on your child’s birth date or view our most recent newsletter. |
