The Women''s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) is an ongoing, multicenter, prospective study established in 1993 to carry out comprehensive investigations of the impact of HIV infection in women. It is the largest study devoted to the study of the current epidemiology of HIV infection in women, including disease progression, treatment use and outcomes, and issues related to aging and co-morbidities with HIV.
