Dr. Stillman was responsible for implementing and evaluating the smoking ban at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Medicine. This evaluation effort was one of the first efforts to demonstrate reduction in smoking consumption and prevalence as well as lowering secondhand smoke exposure. She also designed and implemented the Johns Hopkins Inpatient Smoking Cessation Service and developed and evaluated the Heart Body & Soul Spiritual Smoking Cessation Program. In addition, Dr. Stillman had a major role in helping to enact Baltimore City’s landmark restrictions on tobacco and alcohol billboards.
