The Health, Behavior and Society Summer Institute offers short, intensive courses that provide students with an understanding of behavioral and society impacts on public health and specific strategies to address the challenges they present.
During the June 4-22, 2012 Summer Institute, HBS will offer two courses that include general overviews of social and behavioral science issues in public health, including discussion of the social, contextual, and individual influences on risk behaviors and interventions that modify these influences. Courses will also be offered on the strategic use of the news media with a focus on anti-smoking campaigns, sexual orientation and gender identity in the context of public health, and knowledge management for public health in low and middle income countries.
The courses may be taken for academic credit or on a non-credit basis. For more information on HBS Summer Institute courses and registration, contact Barbara Diehl at bdiehl@jhsph.edu.
