The purpose of my study (in Nicaragua) was to train adolescent peer educators in sexual and reproductive health issues, to train the community health workers in maternal and newborn care practices, and to develop and field test a survey about sexual knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors to be used at an upcoming national conference.

The main goals of my study in Nicaragua were to develop and pilot a survey for adolescents to determine their knowledge of reproductive health issues, to train adolescent peer educators to conduct classes on reproductive health issues, and to train midwives and rural healthcare workers in sexual and reproductive health, breastfeeding and pre- and post-natal care.
