Admissions Blog

Keyword: resources

housekeepingBy definition, a blog is an online chronological journal of thoughts. And just like your tenth grade diary or your current favorite news source, yesterday’s news quickly becomes old news. What was once true, changes with the times.

We hope you find the information on our blog useful and maybe even a little entertaining, but be sure you’re relying on a current post for your information. To help with this, notice that all deadline reminders and application tips for the current admissions cycle are tagged “2015-2016 cycle.”

If you’re ever in doubt, the latest deadlines, requirements and policies will always be found on our regular website. And you’re more than welcome to contact us.

As always, thanks for following the Admissions Blog!

You’ve heard us say, “know your program.”

Probably you’ve also heard us suggest exploring our school, its programs, research, faculty and facilities to ensure we’re the best fit with your public health goals.

How do you do this?

There are many resources – most of which, we’ve profiled before.

But now we have one more. The Bloomberg School has developed a digital “YearLook” celebrating the Bloomberg School’s noteworthy successes in research, education and practice from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.

The YearLook attempts to reflect the breadth and depth of the School’s mission, across public health disciplines and on many levels, from cell to society.

It shows that we really do believe and aspire to our tagline of Protecting Health, Saving Lives – Millions at a Time.

Young woman using computerTravel can be expensive on a student’s budget. We understand that.

So, for those prospective students who can’t make the trip to Baltimore, we offer a series of virtual information sessions beginning in September.

“The Ins and Outs of Applying to the Bloomberg School”

During this session, admissions representatives will discuss our many academic programs and how to apply. Participants will have a chance to ask questions and our staff will do our best to answer. This session is offered twice: once at noon on September 26 and again at noon on October 31.

“MHA, MHS, MPH, MPP, MSPH, & ScM – What’s the Difference?”

Our school offers the alphabet soup in public health master’s degrees. In this session, admissions representatives will cover them all, explaining the differences, application requirements and more. This session is offered at noon on October 8.

All sessions are recorded and posted to the website for your later reference.

2015-2016 Academic ProspectusIt’s finally here!

On Monday, we received the end product of six month’s work:
the 2015-2016 Academic Prospectus!

This 70-page book provides an overview of our School – its history, departments and academic programs.

We distribute the Prospectus at recruitment events across the country. We provide them to public health advisers. And we send them to those who request it using our Prospectus Request Form.

For those who prefer things electronically, a pdf is also available on our website.

Happy reading!
