Master of Health Science (MHS)

The Master of Health Science (MHS) degree is a specialized degree offered by each academic department of the School.  MHS programs provide opportunities for advanced study and research in a specific public health discipline for students planning research careers or further graduate study.  At a minimum, programs require 4 terms of full-time coursework; a written culmination such as a thesis, essay or other written exercise; and an oral presentation. MHS programs are offered by the following departments of the School:

Please contact the academic coordinator of the appropriate department or the Admissions Office for additional information regarding a specific MHS or MSPH program.

Beginning with the 2010-11 academic year, the names of degree programs previously designated as professional MHS degree programs were changed to MSPH degree programs. Admission and graduation requirements and educational objectives remained the same. The name change is not retroactive.
