What are the admission requirements?

To learn more about the admissions requirements, first review the information on the MPH admissions information page.  If you have additional questions, contact the MPH program office.

Can I transfer credits from another institution?

Unfortunately, the Bloomberg School does not accept credits from other academic institutions.

If admitted, can I defer my start date?

Once admitted to the Bloomberg School MPH program, deferrals can be requested.  A letter should be addressed to the MPH Admissions Coordinator requesting a deferral of enrollment. Deferrals are granted for one year beyond the initial date of admittance to the program. Students who request a deferral must first log into their online application, accept the offer of admission and pay the non-refundable $600 enrollment deposit before a deferral will be granted.

What is the average GPA and standardized test score for admitted MPH applicants?

We do not have data regarding average GPA and standardized test scores for admitted applicants.  However, it is recommended that applicants have a GPA of 3.0 or above. For standardized test scores to be considered competitive, they would fall within the 70th-90th percentile.

How do I know if I fulfilled the health-related work experience requirement?

The 2 years of professional health-related work experience (i.e., paid and full-time) must be obtained after the applicant's undergraduate education is completed. Applicants may review our student demographics for examples of work experience of past and current MPH students.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

All applicants admitted to the MPH program are considered for a number of merit-based scholarships. The admission application materials serve as the scholarship application. With the exception of a few of the scholarships, no additional forms are needed in order to be considered for a scholarship.  For more information, please see our Scholarships webpage.
