Greer Promoted to Associate Professor
March 27, 2020
We are delighted to announce the promotion of Raquel Charles Greer, MD, MHS to Associate Professor in General Internal Medicine!
Greer completed her undergraduate education at the University of Maryland at College Park, as a member of the honors program. She received her medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she stayed to complete her Internal Medicine Residency (Osler) training, followed by a GIM Fellowship at Hopkins.
After completing fellowship, Greer was recruited to the GIM faculty and the Welch Center in 2010 where she developed a national reputation for her research on health care quality and health equity among patients with chronic illness, particularly chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, and hypertension. She has served on the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland Medical Advisory Board and the Education Committee at the National Office. She is also very active in education, serving as Co-director of the Clinical Epidemiology Course at the School of Medicine since 2009 and Director of Education for the Johns Hopkins Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care. Last but not least, she continues her primary care practice with the Levine Group at Green Spring Station.
Sadly, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, plans for a party are on hold for now. We hope to be able to celebrate this accomplishment with her soon!
