The Johns Hopkins Northeast Regional Academic Environmental Public Health Center
The Johns Hopkins Northeast Regional Academic Environmental Public Health Center was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health from 2001-2007, as part of the CDC's environmental public health capacity initiative.
In addition to outreach and technical assistance efforts, the Center producted two profile reports detailing state and local environmental public health practice in Maryland (2005) and the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional (2008) Profile Report. These reports provide a review of state and local environmental public health capacities, gaps, and future challenges, as well as recommendations to address the identified needs.
