Johnathon Ehsani, received the 2018-2019 Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions Pilot Project Award for his proposal, “Steering Autonomous Vehicles to Provide Safe and Equitable Transportation”

The Pilot Project Program supports new and early stage investigators (ESI) with projects related to place-based determinants of health disparities and minority health.

Dr. Ehsani’s research examines the role of policy and technology on driver behavior and safety. He has ongoing studies examining the effectiveness of autonomous vehicle texting policies and is collaborating on a number of naturalistic driving studies that examine individual-level driver behavior in a variety of contexts. He is the current Leon S. Robertson Faculty Development Chair in Injury Prevention.
