Impact Evaluation of the Innovative Phase of the ‘Seqota’ Declaration

The Institute for International Programs at Johns Hopkins University (IIP-JHU) provided technical assistance to the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and their regional evaluation partners in Tigray and Amhara (Public Health Institutes and universities) to implement a high-quality evaluation of the 3-year Seqota Declaration Innovation Phase. The partnership intentionally strengthened their institutional capacity to more independently lead future large-scale evaluations. The evaluation was designed to provide interim results to program implementers to strengthen implementation and coordination, including prospective documentation of implementation processes and at midterm, an independent assessment of the strength and quality of implementation and degree of multi-sectorial coordination. IIP-JHU provided technical assistance to EPHI and partners for dissemination of findings and to facilitate use for planning the next two phases of Seqota Delcaration implementation, including setting 2030 national and sub-national targets using the Lives Saved Tool (LiST).
