Leadership
Keshia M. Pollack Porter, PhD, MPH, was named director of the Institute for Health and Social Policy in 2016. Dr. Pollack Porter has dedicated much of her work to promoting health in all policies and to health impact assessment as a way to help decision makers from diverse sectors consider health and health equity during policy change. Dr. Pollack Porter also serves as the co-director of the Institute’s European partner center in Barcelona, the Johns Hopkins University-University Pompeu Fabra Public Policy Center. She earned her PhD from Johns Hopkins University, her MPH from the Yale School of Public Health and her BA from Tufts University.
Core Faculty
The Core Faculty of the Institute is a group of internationally recognized Johns Hopkins researchers whose professional interests include the interaction of social policy and human health.
The multidisciplinary group represents diverse fields, with policy interests and expertise spanning food, addiction, mental health, politics, transportation, climate change, built environment and health equity.
