Capacity Building

The Institute for Global Tobacco Control works to foster tobacco control capacity in many regions of the world. Overall, our capacity building efforts focus on building collaborative networks and developing the skills and tools needed to create, reinforce, and support tobacco control programs and infrastructures:

  • Online Courses: training leaders and building collaborative networks through leadership programs
  • Leadership Programs: our by-nomination regional and country-specific programs to train leaders from lower- and middle-income countries
  • Certificate Program: our certificate program for JHSPH students and scholarship program for outside participants
  • JHSPH Credit Courses: enhancing knowledge and skills through academic training
  • Scholars' Program: enriching leadership skills among selected alumni of JHSPH Tobacco Control Leadership and Certificate Programs
  • Research Projects: working with in-country research and partner organizations on research studies
