- Every year the 6th-floor’s Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research, Center for Population Health Information Technology, Roger C. Lipitz Center for Integrated Health Care, and Johns Hopkins Evidence-based Practice Center celebrate the holiday season together, as always. This floor tradition can be traced back to 70's! No wonder former Center Director and Professor Emeritus Donald Steinwachs and his wife joined this year's luncheon! We are so happy to feel this spirit on our floor!
- CHSOR would like to express its gratitude to all those who organized, supported, and attended its 50th Anniversary Party. CHSOR is 50! We can take full credit for having celebrated in style. Thank you – let’s stay around together for the next 50.
- Monthly 6th-floor birthday celebrations sometimes turn into a little promotion party. Because we appreciate each other!
- Celebrating May Birthdays' and Jennifer's new role
This month we celebrated not only May's birthdays but also Jennifer Wolff’s new role as the Eugene and Mildred Lipitz Professor and Director of the Roger C. Lipitz Center for Integrated Health Care.
- HPM Welcoming Spring and Celebrating Diversity Breakfast
Our faculty, staff and students wore ethnic attire representing diversity of cultures at the Department of Health Policy and Management. We celebrated Spring with healthy food and lots of smiles. We assembled and shared a photo slide show of HPM faculty, staff and students immersed in diverse cultural environments.
- Celebrating Jill Marsteller's Promotion
CHSOR members and friends of the Center gathered to celebrate the promotion of Jill Marsteller to Professor.
- HPM Holiday party
This year at the HPM Holiday Party, CHSOR members were judges in the dessert contest (won by our own Kaylin), dominated the ugliest sweater competition, competed for the most wonderfully decorated doors, and, as always, had the most fun!
- Annual 6th-floor Holiday luncheon
Every year CHSOR members have a friendly get-together with their colleagues from other 6th-floor HPM centers. As our Director said: "I am so thankful to everyone that I can do the work I like with the people I like".
- HPM Social Fall Aftrenoon Event
Our faculty, staff and students welcomed in the fall with tasty drink and warm drinks!
- CHSOR Retreat
The Retreat was dedicated to reviewing CHSOR's history and accomplishments, revisiting the Center's vision & mission and discussion of its scope and organization moving forward. We reviewed our existing collaborations, identified the new ones, worked in brainstorm groups on funding opportunities and got inspired via a lightning round of elevator pitches. After such a prolific day, of course, we had a happy hour!
- HPM Welcome Spring and Celebrating Diversity Breakfast

- Celebrating Sydney, Zack, and Jennifer's Promotions
CHSOR members gathered to celebrate promotions of their fellow faculty members: Sydney Dy to Professor, Jennifer Wollf to Professor, and Zackary Berger to Associate Professor.

- Celebrating CHSOR’s third director, Donald M. Steinwachs
Donald M. Steinwachs, PhD, ’73, former Director of the Health Services Research and Development Center (now CHSOR) 1982-2011, former chair of HPM 1994-2005, and Professor of Health Policy and Management, has been appointed Professor Emeritus at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. CHSOR members commemorated Don's leadership and mentorship by installing his portrait in CHSOR’s conference room, Hampton House room 688, and by having a great “roast or toast” party!
- Ethel Poplovski's Retirement Party
After 48 plus years of service to CHSOR, HPM Department and the School, Ethel Poplovski retired at the end of May 2016. The retirement party gathered guests throughout the School and they presented to Ethel a book filled with memories, photos and stories during the celebration in her honor.
Ethel was a long-standing chair and leader of CHSOR and HPM Social Committees. Join us, become a member of the commitee!

- CHSOR Centennial Dinner
To honor and celebrate the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health 100-year milestone, CHSOR participated in the School's 100 Centennial dinners initiative. CHSOR members celebrated a century of groundbreaking public health with a centennial dinner at Evergreen Museum and Library. We are looking ahead to the School's second century as a global health leader.
