Kristina MetzKristina Metz, PhD
Research Associate, Department of Mental Health

Dr. Metz is a psychologist by training, specializing in the utilization of trans-diagnostic approaches to treat child and adolescent mental health problems.  She has a specific interest in researching and treating youth with complex psychopathology. This research includes the development/adaptation, effectiveness testing, and dissemination of evidence-based practices to underserved populations, with an emphasis on the role of effectively moving research into practice within low-resourced settings.

Quincy MooreQuincy Moore, MPH
Research Associate, Department of Mental Health

Mr. Moore, who is currently based in Ukraine, is a Research Associate in the Department of Mental Health.  He is directing the implementation of a randomized control trial to investigate the effectiveness of CETA, a trans-diagnostic cognitive based therapy intervention, for the treatment of war related mental illnesses in internally displaced people, veterans, and veteran's families in Ukraine.  Prior to joining the Hopkins team, Mr. Moore was an M&E advisor at the International Training and Education Center (I-TECH) at the University of Washington.

Sarah PorterSarah Porter, MHS
Research Program Coordinator, Department of Mental Health

Ms. Porter’s research background is in maternal mental health, and adolescent suicide prevention. She has spent over nine years in the nonprofit sector working with mental health organizations developing college peer-education resources for suicide prevention, expanding student access to professional mental health resources, and coordinating national efforts to engage university administrators and federal officials in suicide prevention legislation. In addition, she also has completed work in international public health with maternal health projects in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. Ms. Porter currently works with Dr. Bass’ global mental health group, serving as a researcher and administrative liaison.

Flor RojasFlor Rojas, MPH
Research Associate, Department of Mental Health 

Ms. Rojas, who is based in Zambia, is a public health practitioner with six years of experience in private and public health sectors focusing on monitoring and evaluation, research, planning and policy, hospital management, management information systems, social marketing, capacity building, and behavior change communication. Ms. Rojas previously worked at Fairview Hospital in Zambia as the Health Policy and Planning Manager to improve health systems and manage client/provider relationships in the private sector. In addition, she has experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention from her home country, the Dominican Republic, where she worked with Population Services International as the M&E Officer.

Matthew SchojanMatthew Schojan, BA
Research Associate, Department of Mental Health 

Matthew Schojan is a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of Mental Health. Mr. Schojan utilizes his more than 15 years of experience spanning both the public and private sectors to support teams and strengthen programs and organizations. Matthew’s work since 2011 has focused on HIV, TB, malaria, and mental health projects in Myanmar and Thailand, where he has led projects with more than 500 staff and 60,000 beneficiaries. Matthew is currently the Site Director of the NIMH-funded ASPIRE-MHS study examining the implementation processes of scaling up an evidence-based mental health intervention in Myanmar.

Stephanie SkavenskiStephanie Skavenski van Wyck, MSW, MPH
Research Associate, Department of Mental Health 

Ms. van Wyk is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts where she focused on the treatment of mental health issues, particularly related to refugees and asylum seekers in the area of trauma/grief as well as implementation of mental health programs in low resource contexts. Ms. van Wyk has been living and working in Zambia since February 2009 and works on a range of projects implementing and managing the research of evidenced based mental health programs in low-resource settings including supervising on evidenced based mental health assessments and treatments.
