The Teen Years Explained describes cognitive development throughout the teen years and how it influences risk assessment, sexual behavior, identity formation, and other aspects of individual growth and how adults can promote healthy development.
The Center for Adolescent Health is a member of the Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) Program, supported by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
Together with community partners, the Center conducts research that identifies the needs and strengths of young people and tests programs designed to promote the health and well-being of young people.
