How do I get my JHED ID?
Incoming students with no previous JHU affiliation receive a system-generated e-mail containing the JHED ID a few weeks prior to matriculating into their degree or certificate program. Be sure to update your SPAM filters to ensure this communication is delivered to your Inbox. Please contact us at JHSPH.Registra@jhu.edu if you do not receive this communication.
I’m trying to authenticate into JHED but I’m receiving an error message indicating my information is incorrect. What should I do?

How do I register for JHSPH courses?
Continuing JHSPH degree, certificate, and post-doctoral students can register via Self-Service using the JHED ID and password. Paper forms are also available in E1002 and online.
Incoming degree and certificate students should refer to the communications from Admissions and the program offices regarding registration for the first term of enrollment.
Current SOM post-doctoral fellows should follow the registration instructions available here.
Non-degree students should follow the registration instructions available here.
When can I register for and add/drop JHSPH courses?
Students should refer to the Academic Calendar for specific Registration and Add/ Drop dates. The online system will open at 7am ET at the start of each Registration and Add/Drop period.
I’m having problems logging into CoursePlus. What should I do?
Please visit the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) webpage at https://ctl.jhsph.edu/help/.
Some of my enrollments aren’t displaying in CoursePlus. Am I registered for the courses?
Check Self-Service to verify you are registered for the courses in question. If you recently added courses it can take up to two hours for CoursePlus to sync with SIS.
Please note that students must complete Introduction to Online Learning in order to access course materials for all online courses offered at JHSPH. CTL must record the IOL completion before course content can be displayed.

Who can I talk to about issues with logging into the myJHSPH Portal with my JHSPH ID and/ or printing?

How do I register for courses at other JHU divisions?
Students in the MPH/MBA program may register for Carey Business School courses via Self-Service. Please refer to the instructions from your program for more information.
All other degree-seeking students must register via paper form. The Interdivisional Registration Form is available in E1002. Be sure to review the Interdivisional Registration policy, available at https://www.jhsph.edu/offices-and-services/student-affairs/records-and-registration/interdivisional-registration.html, and register for all JHSPH courses prior to submitting your paperwork to our office.
**Enrollment in courses offered by other JHU divisions is contingent on approval by the host division**
How do I update my address?
Address information should be updated in Self-Service. Instructions are available here. Please note that a Local Address (in Baltimore) is needed to sign up for JHU SafeRide and student insurance. Also be sure to include an Emergency Contact when updating address information.
I recently obtained a U.S. Social Security Number. How do I update it with your office?
Please bring your Social Security card and a valid ID to our office so that we can make a copies and update SIS. We will also accept the information via fax (410-955-0464). Once you’ve done this you should also update the information with Payroll (if applicable). Do not e-mail your Social Security information to our office.
I recently changed my name. How do I update it on my record?
Please bring your marriage certificate, divorce decree, certificate of dissolution, etc. to our office so we can make a copy. You will also need to provide TWO forms of official documentation showing usage of the new name. One of the documents must bear your date of birth, photo ID, and signature. Acceptable forms of documentation include:
- Driver's license
- Social Security card
- Government issued ID (passport, visa, valid military ID, tribal enrollment card, etc.)
Your record will be updated in SIS once we have received all the necessary documentation. Please wait to update your name on your CoursePlus account until the process is complete.
How do I sign up for JHU SafeRide?
You can request access through this link. This will pull the Local Address (in Baltimore) listed for you in SIS and determine if you are within the approved radius.
If you need to update your Baltimore address in SIS, you can do so by following these instructions.
The SafeRide program is operated by the Transportation Office. Please direct any additional questions or concerns to them via (410) 614-1436 or email email@example.com.
I have a financial hold on my record. What should I do?
Please contact Student Accounts (JHSPH.firstname.lastname@example.org).
Can I pay my bill at the Office of Records & Registration?
No. You can pay your bill via Self-Service or in person at Student Accounts (W1101). Any billing questions should be directed to that office at (410) 955-5725 or via e-mail at JHSPH.email@example.com.
Who can I talk to about health and/ or dental insurance?

I need to defer my loans. Where should I send my paperwork?
Currently enrolled JHSPH students may submit deferment paperwork to our office (E1002) in person, e-mail them to JHSPH.Registra@jhu.edu, or fax them to (410) 955-0464.
My lender has not received information about the status of my enrollment. When will this information be available?
We send the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) enrollment files at the beginning, middle, and end of each term. Even though we send the files in a timely manner it can take the NSC several days to update their system. Please ask your lender to work directly with the NSC.
The university considers 12+ credits to be full-time. Please be sure you are registered in the appropriate status prior to the start of the term.
Why can’t I see my grades for the current term?
Students must complete all course evaluations for the current term before they can view their grades in Self-Service. Inability to view a grade may mean no grade has been submitted by the instructor.
How can I obtain an unofficial transcript of my JHSPH coursework?
Current students and recent graduates can download unofficial transcripts from Self-Service. From the main dashboard go to the Registration tab and select My Grades. Once there click on “[View Unofficial Transcript]”. You will be prompted to open or save the PDF.
How can I get an official transcript of my JHSPH coursework?
Transcript ordering information is available here. Please note there is no same day service, so plan accordingly.
Unofficial copies of transcripts may be downloaded from Self-Service.
I need copies of my standardized test scores / transcripts from other institutions. Can I get them from your office?
No. We cannot reissue test scores or transcripts from other institutions. Please contact the testing agencies or institutions directly.
Am I on track to complete my requirements?
Please contact your department or program office with specific questions regarding requirements.
I am ready to put together my committee for my preliminary or final oral exam, who do I contact?
