Special Students Limited—Institute Enrollment

New Students

To enroll as a new Special Student Limited in an institute course at the Bloomberg School, please complete the online application.

Within 24-72 hours after you’ve submitted the application, you will receive a Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory Log-in ID (JHED-ID), along with instructions on how to log into JHED and create your password.

New international students who do not have a U.S. government issued Social Security Number (SSN) will be assigned a “988” number to be used in place of an SSN. This number is required to create your JHED password. You will be notified of your “988” number via email after your application is submitted. This number is only valid within Johns Hopkins University.

Once you’ve created your JHED-ID, you may log into SIS to register and pay. You may also apply to additional institutes.

Please be advised you must enroll in desired class(es) within 60 days of completing your online application.  If enrollment is not completed within the allotted time frame you will not be permitted to access self-service.  You will be required to contact Continuing Education Student Services (410) 502-8053 to gain access to self-service.  Your access to self-service will be restored 2 hours following update made by Continuing Education Student Services.

Instructor permission is not required to register for institute courses. Payment in full is required in order for your enrollment to be confirmed.

Please Note: If you are applying to the H.E.L.P Summer Institute, your application must be approved by the institute before you will be allowed to register for courses.

Continuing/Returning Students

Continuing Special Students Limited who have previously enrolled in credit courses at the Bloomberg School are able to register online for institute courses by logging into SIS using their JHED-ID and password.

Your class enrollment privileges for class(es) must be reactivated following 60 days of the last term registered.   If your access to self-service has been discontinued please contact Continuing Education Student Services (410) 502-8053 to have your enrollment privileges restored.  Your access to self-service will be restored 2 hours following update made by Continuing Education Student Services.

Payment must be made at the time of registration in order to confirm enrollment. Instructor permission is not required to register for institute courses.
