About
The Office of Public Health Practice and Training recognizes faculty, staff, and students each year for outstanding public health practice contributions. These awards are given in recognition of a practice effort that has made or has great potential to make a sustained impact on a health-related outcome.
Faculty
Eligibility:
-
Current full-time faculty of any rank with a primary appointment at JHSPH. After winning an award individuals become ineligible for five years.
-
The practice effort should have been active in the previous 12 months, although efforts that began earlier and on-going efforts are eligible. Such eligible efforts include, but are not limited to: contributing to the creation, implementation, or evaluation of programs, policies, or practices that improve the public’s health; assisting community-based organizations or agencies in ways that advance their mission and improve the public’s health; or other real-world application of public health principles and methods that improves health.
-
While the practice effort that is the subject of the nomination may be tied to a research project, the practice effort itself needs to be distinct from any research.
-
Awardees will be invited to share their work during a seminar sponsored by the Office of Public Health Practice and Training.
