Final Study Report

A Final Study Report closes out IRB oversight of a research project. Once a final study report is approved, the study file will be archived. A PI should submit a final study report when one of these are true:

  1. IRB approval for the study has lapsed.
  2. The PI has completed research activity and wishes to close the study. If the data are de-identified, data analysis may continue so long as the analysis is consistent with the original study purpose. Analysis for new research objectives should be submitted as a new application.
  3. The IRB approved the study, but it was never initiated.
