Federal Grant to Fund Mobile Safety Center

Published

On February 3, the Baltimore Fire Department announced it would receive a $632,800 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Administration to help improve the city’s arson investigations and fire safety education programs. Fire officials said some of the money will be used to purchase and operate the School’s Mobile Safety Center.

Once built, the Mobile Safety Center will provide fire safety tips and low-cost safety products to parents and children. The vehicle will be staffed by city firefighters and health care professionals from the School’s Center for Injury Research and Policy and the Children’s Safety Center.
