Regional Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis (RePORT) India

Summary

RePORT India is a joint venture between the Indian and US governments. The Indo-US Vaccine Action Program, a collaboration between the Indian Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and the US NIH, is co-funding six teams of India- and US-based investigators, to implement individual cohort studies of active and latent TB in India. Investigators are funded to enroll subjects into their own parent protocol. Eligible subjects from each parent protocol will be asked to co-enroll into the RePORT International Common Protocol. All subjects will be enrolled from the sites in India, and are expected to enroll active TB cases and latently TB infected (LTBI) households of active TB cases in their parent protocols. The sites are all experienced in TB clinical research, represent a mix of urban and rural, geographically disparate populations, and bring unique interests and expertise to their parent projects. This effort is part of RePORT International, under which other bilateral partnerships for TB research exist for Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, China, and the Philippines.
