Community mental health in Kurdistan, Iraq.

Summary

This project is a partnership with Heartland Alliance who are providing community-based mental health services throughout Kurdistan through a system of Community Mental Health Workers based in local clinics. The project will assess the problems facing the Kurdish population resulting from torture, gender-based violence, and other forms of violence. This information will be used to select specific mental health interventions to be implemented by the CMHWs. Later the impact of these programs will be assessed.
