Summary

The aim of this project is to provide initial and biannual training to all clinical trial site personnel that are conducting HIV vaccine trials in collaboration with IAVI. There are a series of trainings offered from basic, refresher to an advanced workshop. The field sites are predominantly in East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia) with sites also in South Africa and India. From July 2001-July 2006, over 560 individuals have been trained through this program To compliment face-to-face training, Ms Charron created an eight-week online course “Clinical Vaccine Trials and Good Clinical Practice ” in 2000 which is offered twice a year through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health online program. Through this course, she has trained over 600 professionals.
