A Evaluation of Evidence-Based Approaches to Promote Hygiene Behaviors in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo to Reduce SARS-CoV-2 Transmission

Given the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic globally, the focus has been on COVID response and limited work has been done to evaluate the effectiveness of program implementation. Our objective is to conduct program evaluation of ongoing COVID response activities related to handwashing with soap and chlorinated water and mask wearing in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo in partnership with the Ministry of Health. The findings from this work will inform refinement of existing COVID control programming by the Ministry of Health to ensure evidence-based approaches are being implemented to increase hygiene practices during the COVID-19 pandemic in DRC.
