My research interest is management of health systems in low and middle income countries, with a special interest in health systems serving populations affected by humanitarian emergencies and disasters.

My particular topic of interest is collection and use of information to: (1) improve impact, coverage and quality of health and development programs, and (2) build the competence of health workers and communities to take on increasingly more responsibility for managing health programs that serve them. Availability of methods for data collection, management and analysis---that are appropriate to both the skills and decision needs of persons who will use these methods---is of special concern.

I have experience with programs in the following technical areas: Maternal and Child Health, Refugee Health, Immunizations, HIV/AIDS, and Mental Health.
