Overview

Dr. Sophie Neuner, M.D., M.P.H., is a proud member of the Karuk Tribe, and a Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health. She currently serves as Medical and Public Health advisor to the Karuk Tribe’s COVID-19 Incident Management Team. Dr. Neuner is passionate about promoting Indigenous Women’s health and well-being. She strives to address the needs of Native American women and families as an obstetrician/gynecologist and researcher, through approaches that are culturally congruent and honor Indigenous sovereignty. Dr. Neuner is dedicated to promoting equity in Medical and Public Health education and works collaboratively to increase diversity and inclusivity, at Johns Hopkins University and at a national level.
