Overview
Leslie Adams’ research examines relationships between discrimination, mental health prevention (depression and suicide), and mental health services utilization using a mixed methods and community-engaged approach. Particularly, Dr. Adams explores the intersections between gender norms, racism, and mental health service disparities among Black boys and men. Her research agenda also focuses on comparative, cross-cultural mental health research among people of African descent with an emphasis on those residing in the United States and South Africa.
