I have been extensively trained in statistics and biostatistics with applications in human genetics. My research focuses on developing novel statistical methods and software for discovering genetic associations of common human diseases. Much of the motivation for my statistical methods came from my collaborations in epidemiologic studies. Although I have primarily worked with complex traits such as lipids and type II diabetes (T2D), the methods/tools I have worked on can be applied to other disease traits as well.

  • Biostatistics
  • Case-control study
  • External controls
  • Genome-wide association study (GWAS)
  • Lipids
  • Meta-analysis
  • Multiple traits
  • Multivariate analysis
  • Overlapping samples
  • Secondary traits
  • Statistical genetics
  • Statistical methods
  • Trio study design
  • Type II Diabetes
