MPH, University of New Mexico, 2007

I am interested in research that contributes to understanding the impacts of food animal production (including aquaculture) on environmental public health, especially in terms of disparities and environmental justice; resource use; effectiveness of regulation and policy processes relevant to food animal production at the local, state, and federal levels; and how to pass and implement policies that are protective of public health and ecosystems through properly regulating food animal production or by encouraging environmentally responsible food production practices. I also strive to increase the role public health professionals play in these issues, especially aquaculture.
