My current research activities are based in Zimbabwe and South Africa. The overall themes of my research are 1) behavioral HIV prevention for men who attend bars in Harare, Zimbabwe and Pretoria, South Africa and 2) behavioral HIV prevention through improved models of voluntary counseling and testing for HIV in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I conduct research in collaboration with the University of Zimbabwe Department of Community Medicine, the Perinatal HIV Research Unit of University of the Witswatersrand, the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa, and Medical Research Council of South Africa. My research is funded by the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse and the National Institute of Mental Health.
