Erica Poellot, MDiv, MSW
Erica M. Poellot is the senior community minister at Judson Memorial Church and the director of faith and community partnerships for Harm Reduction Coalition, both in New York City. She oversees Shaping Sanctuary, a collaborative project between Judson Memorial Church and Harm Reduction Coalition, which is a national mobilization of faith leaders to address the opioid crisis. Poellot has worked in the field of harm reduction since 1998, with a particular interest in the intersections of spiritual care, trauma and substance use among women and LGBTQ communities. She has extensive experience strengthening and shaping spiritual and health care services, including chaplaincy with people who use drugs, directing an emergency domestic violence shelter program, managing a crisis intervention call center/first responders team for sexual violence survivors and developing a specialized counseling center for LGBTQ intimate partner violence survivors. Poellot received an MSW from Columbia University and an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary, both focused on spiritual care, trauma studies and harm reduction.
