What was your favorite academic experience?

My favorite academic experience was probably the end of year master’s presentations. It felt like a nice time to be recognized by staff and fellow students. I really enjoyed hearing about what my classmates had been working on and the varied experiences that we each had.

Where was your internship, if you had one during your program?

My summer internship was at the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities. My fall internship was with Dr. Anne Duggan in the Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine. It is also where I currently work.

What was the topic of your Masters Essay?

It was reporting on the process evaluation of our evaluation of First Steps Georgia, a light touch intervention for moms who recently had a baby. I am actually still working on this evaluation. We are currently moving forward with a randomized controlled trial.

How has your Master’s Degree contributed to your current line of work?

The most significant way that my MSPH has been beneficial is leading me into my current position. I have been able to do quite a bit of study design and I think that my MSPH provided me with the requisite skills to be effective in that.
