What was your favorite academic experience?

  • Combining and applying the knowledge I was gaining in my doctoral program (both course work and mentored research time) with the community service work I was doing in Baltimore.
  • Conducting my dissertation research.

What was the topic of your Thesis?

Maternal executive functioning, parenting, and child behaviors.

How has your Doctoral Degree contributed to your current line of work?

My doctoral degree exposed me to various aspects of mental health, including the concept of executive functioning, that I integrate into my teaching and research. My current research continues to build off of the research I began with my dissertation.
