We use a psycho-social and bio-behavioral approach to understand women’s health in developed and developing countries throughout their life course. We apply a gender lens to explore and explain biological vulnerabilities, social disparities and inequalities that affect the health and well-being of women in general populations, as well as those uniquely marginalized.
Our work focuses on maternal health, women’s sexual and reproductive health and their intersection with physical and mental health
The Women's Health Research Group (WHRG) was created by our department faculty with other faculty members. It is an interdisciplinary collaborative research group, among the Schools of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing at The Johns Hopkins University.
