The Department of Health Policy and Management offers a PhD program that trains its students to conduct original investigator-initiated research through a combination of coursework and research mentoring.
The PhD in HPM is a full-time, residential program where students are required to be in residence in Baltimore to complete the required coursework. Applicants interested in the PhD must apply to one of the department's four concentration areas:
- Bioethics and Health Policy
- Health Economics and Policy
- Health Services Research and Policy
- Health and Public Policy
If you would like to speak with a Department representative, or arrange a campus visit, please contact our Department's Office of Academic Affairs.
The PhD program will be participating in a number of virtual events to connect with interested applicants, including the JHSPH-hosted Virtual Open Houses scheduled for November 6, as well as HPM-specific Virtual Information Sessions on November 19, and December 19. Registration is required for participation in all upcoming events. If you can't attend, you can reach out to the Office of Academic Affairs to receive slides used during the presentations. We hope to see you there!
