Field Placements

One of the central goals of the MPP program is to prepare students to be effective practitioners of policymaking, and to understand the problems of implementation common to working situations. To integrate the analytics and the substance, students participate in a series of skill building courses.

All students must complete an internship to qualify for the MPP degree. Students will register for the internship in the 1st and 2nd terms of the 2nd year although the actual experience may take place in the summer between years one and two. Students are required to work at their placements for a minimum of 300 hours.

At the conclusion of the internship experience, two written documents are required in order to receive the credits. Further criteria on the document requirements will be made available from the program office.
