Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology conducts research to discover and characterize the fundamental biological processes relevant to health and disease.
Faculty and students work together to increase knowledge of the biochemical and molecular bases of normal and abnormal cellular processes and to train highly qualified scientists who—through research, teaching and service—continue to provide new insights into the biomedical issues that have a profound impact on public health.
Students and faculty in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology talk about the unique opportunity to pursue their passions in basic science and gain concrete public health skills.
