Giving to BMB
Whether making discoveries in the areas of genome integrity, cancer, aging, neurological disorders, fertility/infertility, and/or the response to stress, or helping to prepare the next generation of highly successful researchers and professionals, members of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health share a common goal: to identify and characterize the fundamental biological processes that underlie health and disease.
Many of the discoveries made by faculty, fellows and students hold great promise of translatability to the prevention or cure of diseases.
Much of our research is funded by federal grants. In addition, gifts are particularly valued because they, unlike federal funding, typically allow considerable freedom to pursue exciting, high-risk studies with a particularly high potential payoff. This section of our website details several ongoing initiatives that we hope will prove of interest to you.
