2016 ANNUAL BMB RETREAT
April 22-23, 2016
BMB Researchers gathered at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center for a two-day retreat to discuss the latest findings by the department.
The 2-day off site retreat provides a great opportunity for our topically diverse department to engage scientifically, form collaborations, and interact in an informal setting. It is also a key component of our training program, giving graduate students and postdoctoral fellows the chance to present their research in the form of posters and talks. This year featured 16 talks and 25 posters covering topics from the role of keratins in cell structure and cancer to the role of antioxidant metalloenzymes in Candida albicans infection.
The retreat was masterfully organized by Drs. Scott Bailey and Phil Jordan, with key assistance from several trainees in BMB, including: Summer Xia, Xin Sun, Hannah Odeh, Christine Lee, Abigail Zieman, Jessica Hopkins, Justin Jacob and Haobo Wang.
