2015 ANNUAL BMB RETREAT
March 6-7, 2015
BMB Researchers gathered at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center for a two day retreat to discuss the latest findings by the department.
The 2-day off site retreat provides a great opportunity for our topically diverse department to engage scientifically, form collaborations, and interact in an informal setting. It is also a key component of our training program, giving graduate students and postdoctoral fellows docs the chance to present their research in the form of posters and talks. This year featured 16 talks and 25 posters covering topics from the role of keratins in cell structure and cancer to the role of antioxidant metalloenzymes in Candida albicans infection.
The retreat was masterfully organized by Dr. Scott Bailey, with key assistance from several trainees in BMB, including: Daisy Colon Lopez, Kaitlin Johnson, Jessica Jopkins, Abigail Zieman, Dolly Singh and Michael Estrella.
