BMB 100 Kilos Challenge

Get involved! Make a Difference!   The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology hosted a healthy food and hygiene products drive for a local Baltimore charity. Our school was founded on the dreams and ambitions of remarkable men and women who were committed to educating and improving lives on a local and global scale. What better way to commemorate 100 years of saving lives than to challenge our colleagues to get involved and make a difference.

To make this event fun, we challenged our colleagues to be the first department to collect 100 kilos (220lbs). We asked everyone that donated to complete an entry form located near their department’s collection box. If your department didn’t have a drop off location we offered the option of choosing another department’s box and putting your entry form in their collection envelope for a chance to win a prize. Collections were tallied every week and an email followed with a link so that everyone would know what the cumulative totals were for each participating department.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’s Centennial 100 Kilos of Food and Hygiene Products Challenge! We are very excited to announce the winning Department.

The department closest to 100 Kg was Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) who donated 85.18 Kg! Congratulations!

We would like to thank everyone who participated. Together we made a difference by donating a cumulative total of 397.51 Kg of food and hygiene products of which the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) donated 155.54 Kg. Please click here to see the final results.

Thank you again for participating!
