Explores key topics in adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Includes topics ranging from adolescent development to policy and ethical issues influencing adolescent sexual health outcomes. Discusses important clinical topics such as contraception, teen pregnancy, abortion, and sexually transmitted infections using a public health framework from a domestic and global perspective.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Identify a range of issues important to adolescent sexual and reproductive health
  2. Assess key policy topics pertinent to adolescent sexual and reproductive health
  3. Define how social determinants intersect with adolescent development and resources to shape adolescent sexual and reproductive health outcomes
  4. Leverage public health communication strategies to effectively advocate for youth
